Laurentis provides donation to help address COVID-19 outbreak at Saugeen First Nation

Laurentis Energy Partners is donating $10,000 to the Canadian Red Cross, to help address COVID-19 in communities struggling with outbreaks, including Saugeen First Nation in Ontario.

Working together with Grey Bruce Health Services, Saugeen First Nation declared a state of emergency due to rising cases of COVID-19.

With an office in Port Elgin and operations at the Bruce nuclear site, within Saugeen Ojibway Nation traditional territory, Laurentis felt it important to provide assistance.

"Laurentis is pleased to be able to support the Red Cross and Saugeen First Nation in their fight against COVID-19. By joining forces and helping front-line workers, we hope to help protect the communities in which we operate", said Jason Van Wart, Vice President of Laurentis.

The Canadian Red Cross is on site at Saugeen First Nation and other communities in Canada, supporting isolation centres and other services for people who are fighting the virus. They welcome donations to their Canadian Emergencies and COVID-19 Response Fund, which is supporting the entire organization in its response to the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada, along with providing disaster relief and recovery, and support to domestic programs and services.
